His whole issue with the NCR is that they came across as bullies to him, and just as bad as Mr House. Oh he'll fight anyone who moves onto his turf, or impeaches on the rights of his people, but he's not a bad guy. The King wants the best for Freeside and its people. Obsidian including Elvis in New Vegas caused a bit of a stir with the guys over on the wiki, as it represented the Fallout world moving forward from its original theme a tad (but I subscribe to the notion that the whole Retro Futuristic beer goggles view of the 50's that American society had become was all actually subtly enforced by a fascistic US government 1984 style so people'd remain ignorant of their real problems). Hell maybe the US government even tried to ban it in the Fallout world as it was a symbol of youthful rebellion. Of course the games have also included the darker elements of that decade, the racist, introvertedness and general jingoism. With the setting its been that the Fallout world has been based on a quintessential 1950's world. Of course the issue is like dsteingass said, the owners can update the licence they have just be republishing the material (something which I don't happens in the UK, and is famous for screwing over the comic book writer Allen Moore). Its 50 years then the material enters public domain. I did like that most of the game's quests were named after songs. There's plenty of mods which add in hundreds of other great songs too mind you. ![]() The songs chosen for the game were either relevent to the Las Vegas setting, or country songs of the era. Mafia 2? Nah, I was probably still playing Fallout then (I don't play games much, and those I do play I wind up playing exclusively for the most part). Heh, who joins the Kings? I did that the first time I played, until I realised that that was one of the only opportunities to create peace between the NCR and the Kings. So yes, women could probably join, and no, the King's probably aren't sexist, they're just following stereotypes. A female courier can join them easily without anyone batting an eye, but I'd imagine that the devs didn't include any female gang members as it would've messed with their design a bit. Rather they're just acting like 1950's greaser types a little, where women are supposed to swoon for them. They talk about women using phrases like "little pussy cat", but I don't think they're sexist. Well its a gang called "The King's", so I'm guessing that its geared towards men. The King/Pacer talk in a mock Elvis accent. If they don't care about repairing something to play Elvis records, or finding a new one (not a difficult task), its just real life writing the plot (again Elvis' songs aren't in the game for legal reasons, even if the devs wanted them to be). Media player? Does the King talk about a jukebox? I never noticed. Mind that Elvis appears in the original games in a Velvet Elvis portrait, though the King's not knowing about the man himself is just a result of the real life issues, and I suppose it reflects on real life impersonators a little - ie impersonating an interpretation of the man's character, but not knowing much about the man himself. Its obvious who they're referencing, but outright calling the Elvis impersonator's would've brought Obsidian into conflict with the man's estate. I think that the lack of any references to Elvis was a legal matter actually. As for the Great Khans they presumably had the other tribes under their thumb, until the tribes were able of throwing them out with Mr House's aid. I wouldn't have thought though that they exerted the amount of power that they do after Mr House presented himself, rather they'd just have been surviving. The Kings formed a while before New Vegas was "civilised" I think, when Pacer and The King were younger men. ![]() ![]() There's plenty of other companies who make similar models, and even a few who make Buddy Holly ones. ![]() Thanks in advance to any replys, is this even the right place to post ?, it seams the form is plauged with people asking all mannor of questions relating to fallout 3, offical bugs, mod development/trouble shotting in every catagory. My Elvis Impersonator's "Bubba" by Hasslefree Miniatures. Perhaps i have done something wrong, has anyone readding this post actualy extracted the fallout.esm ?, id love to know what applicatoin can extract this file, so please if you have extracted the fallout3.esm, what applicatoin was it ? I have been readding through a lot of posts about this subject (usualy related to other Bethesda games) and there is lots of talk about extracting the fallout3.esm, but no conclusive detials on exactly what application was used ( i have tryed various applications, but they all return errors) esm files, that means somewhere there is an application for extracting the Fallout3.esm. Ive noticed a few other mods on here that have hacked.
